How we work
From your first message to the last transfer
Four steps, one planner, and nothing to pay until you have a route and a price you are happy with.
- 01You
Tell us the valley, the month and the budget
Use the three-step form, email or WhatsApp. A rough idea is enough: "Ladakh in July, two of us, Comfort" is a good start. Tell us about children, older travellers and any heart or lung conditions, since they shape the route.
- 02Within one working day
A route, an altitude profile and an itemised quote
Your planner sends a day-by-day route with where you sleep, drive times, the sleeping altitude of every night and a written quote with every line priced. Above 3,000 m we pace the climb by the usual advice of 300 to 500 m of sleeping height a day, with rest days. Change anything, as often as you like: swap a hotel, add a night, mix tiers.
- 03When you are sure
A deposit confirms the booking
Accept the quote in writing and pay the deposit. We then confirm every hotel, car, permit and guide in writing, and send current guidance on permits and roads. The balance is due before departure. The amounts, dates and methods are in our payments policy and booking terms.
- 04On the road
Your planner stays on WhatsApp
The same planner is reachable on WhatsApp while you travel. If a pass closes, a flight moves or someone feels the altitude, we reroute with drivers, guides and homestay families who know the valley.

Questions
Before you write to us
What does Himalaya Hives do?
We plan trips in the Himalaya and nowhere else: Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal, Spiti and Lahaul, Garhwal, Kumaon, Nepal, Darjeeling and Kalimpong, Sikkim, Bhutan and Arunachal. Every trip comes in three tiers, Saver, Comfort and Signature, so you choose how you travel and what you spend.
What is a Saver trip?
Saver trips are our affordable Himalaya: state buses and shared jeeps where they run reliably, homestays, hostels and government tourist bungalows, and local food. They are planned and supported like every other trip, with honest notes on comfort, bathrooms and road times.
Are your prices fixed?
No. Prices on the site are indicative 'from' prices in INR per person, twin sharing, for 2026. The final price depends on dates, rooms and availability. We send a written quote with every line itemised before you pay anything.
Can you change a trip on the site?
Yes. The trips on the site show what works on each route. We change hotels, add nights, swap tiers for part of the trip and combine hives, then send a new day-by-day plan.
How do you handle altitude?
Every trip page shows a sleeping-altitude profile. Above 3,000 m we follow the usual advice of gaining no more than 300 to 500 m of sleeping height a day, with rest days. We are not doctors: talk to yours before any trip above 3,000 m, especially with heart or lung conditions.
Who will we deal with?
One planner handles your trip from the first message to the last transfer and is reachable on WhatsApp while you travel. On the ground we work with local drivers, guides and homestay families on routes they know.
