Roudra Chhaya Tourism Property (WBTDC)
WBTDC's lodge in Kurseong, formerly the Kurseong Tourist Lodge, with standard and larger double rooms, a restaurant and views over the hills. A simple, fairly priced stop between NJP and Darjeeling.
The former Kurseong Tourist Lodge is now WBTDC's Roudra Chhaya Tourism Property. It offers a small number of standard and larger double rooms, some with views over the Eastern Himalayan foothills, and an in-house restaurant. Rooms are plain and practical. The setting on the hill road makes it a convenient stop for travellers breaking the drive from NJP, and the toy train line and Kurseong station are nearby.
It suits saver travellers who want a reliable bed and a meal without hunting for a hotel in an unfamiliar town. From here you can walk the station and bazaar, take a taxi to Giddapahar and Eagle's Crag, and catch a shared jeep onward to Darjeeling or down to Siliguri. Book through WBTDC; weekends and holidays fill with families from Kolkata and Siliguri.
Why we use it
- Government rates in a central Kurseong location
- Restaurant on site for simple meals
- Easy stop to break the NJP–Darjeeling journey
