Luxury Boutique hotel · Leh
The Grand Dragon Ladakh
Leh's largest full-service hotel, open all year, with heated rooms, a restaurant serving Ladakhi and international food, and views to the Stok range. It is the most comfortable base in town for acclimatisation and for winter or shoulder-season trips.
The Grand Dragon stands on the old road south of the town centre, a short drive from Main Bazaar. It is a large, modern hotel by Ladakh standards, built with a Ladakhi look and designed to stay open through winter, which is rare in Leh. Rooms are heated and the hotel has its own restaurants and lounges, so on rest days you need not leave the building.
For signature trips we use it at the start and end of journeys, when guests are most tired and most affected by the altitude. Ask for a room facing the Stok range. It also suits winter trips for Losar or snow leopard tracking in Hemis, when most of Leh's guesthouses are closed. Check room types and current rates when you book.

Questions
About The Grand Dragon Ladakh
Is The Grand Dragon Ladakh open in winter?
Yes. It is one of the few Leh hotels that stays open all year, with heated rooms, which makes it a popular base for winter trips, Losar and snow leopard tours. Check current status before you travel.
How far is The Grand Dragon from Leh airport?
It is a short drive from the airport, around 10–15 minutes depending on traffic. Main Bazaar is about 5–10 minutes by car. The hotel can arrange airport transfers.
Does The Grand Dragon help with oxygen or acclimatisation?
Many Leh hotels keep oxygen cylinders for emergencies, and staff are used to guests feeling the altitude. Ask the hotel what is available. Oxygen is not a substitute for rest: spend at least 48 hours resting, and see a doctor if symptoms worsen.
