Gulmarg's top resort, opened in December 2012, with rooms and private cottages looking over the meadow and pine forest to the Apharwat ridge, and a large spa. In winter it is the most sought-after base for skiers.

It has around 80 rooms plus a few private cottages, a spa, and restaurants serving Kashmiri and international food. Views from many rooms take in the meadow, forest and the Apharwat ridge.
It is the obvious choice for signature trips to Gulmarg, especially in the ski season, when it fills early for late December to February. In summer it makes a quiet, luxurious base for the gondola and meadow walks. Book well ahead for winter and confirm transfers from Srinagar and ski storage.

Gulmarg
Gulmarg is a cup-shaped meadow at 2,650 m, about 50 km west of Srinagar. In summer it is wildflowers, pony rides and golf; from December to March it is India's best ski resort. The two-phase gondola climbs to about 4,000 m on Apharwat. One or two nights is ideal.

How far is The Khyber from the Gulmarg Gondola?
It is close to the gondola base, a short walk or shuttle ride depending on snow. Confirm current transfer arrangements with the resort, especially in deep winter.
When should I book The Khyber Gulmarg?
Book months ahead for late December to February, when skiers and New Year visitors fill it. Summer from May to June is also busy. Shoulder months like September and October are easier.
Is The Khyber good for families?
