The Pahalgam Hotel
One of Pahalgam's oldest hotels, established in the early 1930s, set in gardens above the Lidder with rooms and suites looking towards the river and snow peaks. A comfortable, central choice with old-hill-station character.
The Pahalgam Hotel stands on about two acres close to the main bazaar, with lawns and views over the Lidder river to the forested slopes and snow peaks beyond. It has a mix of rooms and suites, many with river views, and a restaurant serving Kashmiri and Indian food. Its long history makes it a familiar name for Indian families who have visited Pahalgam over generations.
It suits families and couples who want comfort, a central location and gardens rather than a modern resort. Union taxis for Aru, Betaab Valley and Chandanwari leave from the nearby stand. Confirm current room categories, heating for cold months and meal plans when booking, and book early for April to June.
