One of the best months. Rhododendrons peak above 2,000 m, the air is warm by day, and birding at Sattal and Binsar is at its best as breeding species call. Haze from the plains and forest fires can soften the mountain views later in the month. School holidays have not started, so rooms are still reasonably priced outside weekends.
